The Pilot Kakuno is a great beginners fountain pen for a very reasonable price. It was designed to teach kids how to write with a fountain pen, and includes smart features such as an ergonomic triangle grip, and hexagonal barrel to keep the pen from rolling. The cap has subtle indentations at the top for little hands to easily grab hold when pulling the cap off. A friendly smiley face is imprinted on the nib to remind you which side to face up when writing.
Cap and barrel are made of recycled materials, and are lightweight so you can write comfortably. Each pen comes with one black ink cartridge, and instructions for simple installation. Additional ink cartridges are sold separately.
